Arthur Ross Terrace American Museum of Natural History
New York City, New York
This rooftop plaza is designed to be a stage set that celebrates both astronomy and Earth’s natural history. Wedge-shaped planetary shadows, in three shades of granite, are cast onto the plaza, extruding from the futuristic sphere of Hayden Planetarium to the doorstep of the historic museum.
