Trillium Projects

Seattle, Washington

The story of the Trillium Projects that began in Seward Park¬†with the Starflower Foundation has continued with five additional projects that express the same underlying mission – to create a new urban ecology that works with nature and the city. We refer to this body of work as the Trillium Projects, after our native Western Trillium, one of the most delicate and beautiful characters of an evolving urban native plant community. The six sites of the Trillium Projects form a network of park landscapes, fine-tuned for environmental education, that represent a succession of biological communities from the woods to the water’s edge. Download a map of all of the sites on the Washington Native Plant Society’s restoration page.
